"IP" Russian tea glass holder |
Fully marked with 84 and 875 Russian silver standard. Some hallmarks seems to be stamped after the Russian Revolution. This is not uncommon. Sometimes, pieces were rehallmarked if they were being sold after the revolution or perhaps if they were exported. Makers mark IP in cyrillic, marked with kokoshnik facing left for manufacture 1896-1908, assayer (I.L.) Ivan Lebedkin. St Petersburg, front engraved with an open cartouche, engraved and monogramed in cyrillic in 1946.
Elegant style with oversized handle. Exceptional quality engraving of front shield and later script engraving on reverse. Dated 1946. Six hallmarks silver 84 and 875.
