Russian Case by Feodor Afanasiev
Description: Unusual silver beautiful card case, with fantastic engravings on front. The highly complex, skillfull and detailed engravings show a beautiful bunch of flowers. There is also a presentation inscription in Cyrillic. The inside of the case is lined, with original silk linings with pockets for the business cards.The case is marked 84 Russian silver standard. There is also a maker's mark "FA" in cyrillic for Feodor Afanasiev, Faberge's master silversmith,and assayer mark "IL" for Ivan Lebedkin . The case has some dings and scratches (see pics) consistent with the age. But overall it is in a very good contition. There is no lock - the case is supposed to close on the springed hinge. The spring is a little weak but still in good working condition. The case is 3.75" X 2.75" and weights 3.6 oz or 100 gr. |
