A Wonderfully Well Preserved Russian Solid Silver Snuff Box, made at 1896-1908 in Moscow, Russian silver items of this period have become highly sought after in recent years - making this a real investment item,& a great collector's piece.
The snuff box is hallmarked on the inside of the lid and the main body (see images).
It bears (inside the base of the box) the assayer's mark "I.L", in Cyrillic for Ivan Lebedkin, who was active as an assayer between 1896-1908.
The box is also marked with 84 silver standard,and silversmith "A.P" in cyrillic inside the lid and the base.
It measures 10.8 cm / 4 1/4" (length) x 6.5 cm / 2 1.5" (width) It weighs 112 grammes or 4.1 troy ounces
