Russian Imperial Silver 84 Caddy Cigar Bike "Object of Fantasy" made by famous Faberge's workmaster "M.P" Michael Perchin.
This unusual cigar caddy bike, desk model circa 1890's. The caddy was done in the form of an old bicycle with a cigar holder being placed into a sleeve in the back.
Measurements: Height: 5.50", Length: 7.0", Width: 4.25" Condition: In good condition with normal surface wear and scratches from usuage and age. The left wheel is a little tight, and some very minor scratches on the front of the handlebars.
Michael Evlampievich Perchin (1860 - 1903), born in Petrozavodsk, Eastern Karelia, died in St. Petersburg. Perchin, Faberge's legendary workmaster, was head of the workshops from 1886 until his death. He started life as a peasant and by applying himself assiduously to the art and craft of goldsmithery in various unknown workshops, he learned enough to open his own workshop in 1886 when he worked exclusively for Faberge. In seventeen years some 26 Imperial Easter Eggs were made under his supervision and established his fame. He made many cigarette cases, writing sets, bibelots of all kinds for the table. The pieces he made were rich quality of his work and every piece is the real thing. Every small object was perfectly executed, capable of impregnating the imagination of hundreds of people, the world over who delighted in seeing, handling, and enjoying. Perchin's mark in cyrillic is M.P.
