Wonderful group of 4 Imperial Russian silver serving spoons,with monogram of Russian Imperial Romanov Dynasty. The hallmarks on all 4 spoons is the same, for silversmith, *Purits* 1872 Odessa, and 84 Russian silver standard. The bowls have nice squared off edges with no curling to the tips and there is a great crown armorial on top of the handles, with a Russian script "M" monogram, for Maria Alexandrovna, Grand Duchess of Russia, the only daughter of Tsar Alexander II and Maria of Hesse-Darmstadt. Princess Maria, Duchess of Edinburgh (1853-1920), daughter-in-law of Queen Victoria through her marriage to Prince Alfred. Spoons measure 8 5/8" long and are made of heavy gauge silver weighing a total of 288 grams or 9.26 silver troy ounces.
